What kind do u use. I am african american and i need a shampoo that fights agains dandruff and lasts a long time. Maybe something not to expensive, and also smells pretty good. Nothing that will dry out my hair because i need moisture.Dandruff Shampoo?
I also struggle with dry scalp especially in the summer months and am also on a budget. Doing the following has gotten my dandruff completely under control:
I would highly recommend Creme of Nature's Dandruff shampoo. It is inexpensive and works great. Be sure to follow up with a conditioning shampoo and a deep conditioner to keep your hair and scalp healthy. Also, I would encourage you to purchase and use at least once every 6 weeks a skin and scalp antiseptic (go to your local beauty supply store and pick some up, it's fairly affordable). You will simply pour the solution over your scalp and wash it out before you use your conditioning shampoo. This will cleanse your scalp of all its impurities and unclog your pores thus reducing your dandruff. Finally, be sure you keep your scalp moisturized but not with heavy oils or cremes (contrary to popular belief, heavy cremes and oils CAUSE more dandruff than preventing them). Oil your scalp a few times per week with a light natural oil or with Optimum Oil Therapy's Scalp Quencher.
None of these products are more than $5-8 and work great. This should keep your flakes under control.
Hope this helps.
P.S. All of the products I have mentioned are 1.) made for African American hair and 2.) have conditioning agents in the product (with the exception of the antiseptic which is why you follow it up with conditioning shampoo). As a stylist I am very anal about my hair and it must ALWAYS ALWAYS be soft, healthy, and manageable.Dandruff Shampoo?
You can try this. Beat two eggs and add two tablespoons of water to it. Wet the hair and apply the egg mixture over the hair. Now massage your scalp and let the mixture on for ten minutes to fifteen minutes. Then rinse the hair with lukewarm water. It is cheap, it will not dry out your hair but it won't smell good. Head and shoulders works, but not for everyone so maybe trying T Gel if head and shoulder fails. It really depends how bad your dandruff is also and if those shampoos don't work, your doctor might be able to prescribe something that works best for your hair and scalp.
sulfur 8, doesn't smell all that good, but you can use a good smelling conditioner afterwards.
Head and Shoulders does work. Or Selson Blue for a lot of dandruff, followed by your favorite conditioner (condition your hair not your scalp).
head and shoulders moisturizes and works

head and shoulders
