What's the best dandruff shampoo to use for the best results??

Selsun Blue. Works best. It has the Selenuim I beleve it is called, anyhow... it kills the fungus that causes dandruff. You might want to see the doc tho to make sure it is dandruff, it might be dry scalp. In which case, I would tell you not to use cheap shampoos. They have harsh chemicals, which cause my scalp to dry out and scab, it is terrible. #1 bad chemical is Propolene Glycol. It is a hydrant, but it is very harsh, it is used as brake lubricat and many other things. It is a cheaper lubricant than some others, that is why for exapmle Pantene Pro V is more expensive that Sauve Professionals.... Sauve uses LOTS of propolene glycol! Good Luck! What's the best dandruff shampoo to use for the best results??
Head %26amp; Shoulders, have used others, but nothing keeps it away like H%26amp;S does. What's the best dandruff shampoo to use for the best results??

head and shoulders
It depends on the disorder causing the flakes. While Head and Shoulders is a common recommendation, it never worked for me. In fact it has always made my flakes worse and dried out my scalp to the point of discomfort.

Sometimes it is simply a matter of avoiding the shampoo and hair products that irritate the skin. When this is the case, I have had good luck with using Natures Gate Herbal Shampoo, it is a basic at many health food stores and is often on sale for as little as $3.98 for 18 oz. Some pure castille shampoos can be helpful in this same way.

Dandruff can be caused by a lack of cleanliness, irritation due to hair products, a fungus much like athletes foot, and psoriasis, and likely some other posibilities as well. To find a cure, it helps to know the cause of the problem. It may take a few trial and error experiements to find what works best for you. It is possible to have dandruff from different causes at different times in life.

When an active ingredient seems to be needed,

I have learned to look for the active ingredient in the shampoo. I have used many of the prescribed, and over the counter brands with many different active ingredients. The ones that have helped the most have been ones with either pine tar, or salicylic acid in them. The most common name brands with these ingredients are Neutrogena T-gel, or T-sal formulas, but there are many store brands and others that have these same active ingredients at a lower cost. Kroger has a good product that is a knock off of T-sal without the dark brown color. The Kroger product is very effective for about half the cost of the name brand. Another couple of helpful formulas that I have found are ';Grandpa's Pine Tar Shampoo'; and Burt's Bee's ';Feelin' Flaky?'; Shampoo, they each can be ordered directly from thier manufacturer online, or may be located in your local grocery, drug, or health food stores.

My first choice is Natures Gate Herbal shampoo. Or the version of same with tea tree oil in it (to kill fungi and microrganisms)If that does not take care of the problem, the next choice would be the Kroger Brand Theraputic T+Plus Salicylic Acid Shampoo (its an excellent knock off of Neutrogena T-Sal at about 1/2 the price).
Do not use Head and Shoulders, it irratates the scalp.

And my hairdresser told me it was so powerful it can take the varnish off the floor.

I had a dandruff problem a few months ago and I switched to Fructis Shampoo for dandruff, a week later my scalp wasn't itchy anymore and I had no dandruff
Don't use dandruff shampoo. Mix a little bit of regular baking soda into your shampoo! It works Wonders!!!
