Is it okay to put dandruff shampoo on my cat?

My cat's skin is very flaky. I gave her a bath with regular shampoo %26amp; it didn't help. Do you think it might help if I use Head %26amp; Shoulders on her?Is it okay to put dandruff shampoo on my cat?
no terrible idea... change her diet to a better quality food and maybe get a tea tree oil CAT shampoo to soothe her skin. Maybe try bathing her once in awhile(have fun ahah, 6 weeks apart is the least time apart between baths, wording sucks I know).

Human shampoo strips oils necessary for your cat that may dry her skin out even more...Is it okay to put dandruff shampoo on my cat?
Flaky skin is a symptom of an underlying problem. Frequently the cat just needs more fatty acids in the diet. Your vet will carry a fish oil supplement that can be used on the food. No, dandruff shampoos are not recommended as humans require a different PH in their soaps than pets do. A medicated shampoo from the vet may help in some cases reduce flaking and moisturize the skin while the condition is being treated.
Is this a joke lol. If not you need to be careful what shampoo you use on your cat as dandruff can indicate a dry skin condition, never use human shampoo.

Brushing your cat with a fine flea comb may be more helpful to your cat.

Washing your cat can dry it's skin out, it is only necessary to bathe or shampoo a cat that is going to be used for catshow purposes.
All those baths you are giving the cat could be the cause of the flaking. Shampoos and baths are not recommended for cats. It strips away the natural oils and can cause drying out of the skin, especially in the winter, when heat in the house dries out the air.

The flaking can also be caused by a reaction to food additives or a skin disease.
All you have to do is give her fish oil.And it does more than make their coat beautiful, it heals them and increases immune system. However, you don't want to give too much or the wrong kind. I give antibiotic-free (make sure it says that) Salmon capsules. Cod liver oil is more dangerous and also has too much vitamin A. And any of the vegetarian oils will do nothing for your cat. My cat's itchy skin and flakiness cleared up, and it also made stronger a kitty who was sick:) Just give one capsule a day or they will start to smell like fish oil and get oily.
Absolutely not. you MUST use cat shampoo it is sold at walmart and is not expensive. you probably made her skin worse using people shampoo. Please do not bathe her often it washes their natural oil from their fur. they usually don,t need to be bathed unless they are really dirty. dander is a natural part of their skin. also never use flea drops sold at stores they cause deadly seizures in cats only use fronline, advantex or revolution you can buy it at spca
No, never use human shampoo on a cat or dog, especially Head %26amp; Shoulders or other medicated shampoos. Get an oatmeal based pet shampoo and a high quality food that doesn't contain corn, wheat, gluten, by products, added flavors, colors or sugar.
no!!!!!!! cat skin is not human skin, get ur cat a proper shampoo 4 it and maybe a call to the vet 2 find out the cause of this flaky skin; that said, fish oil would b a great additive for it's fur, add 2 food about a teaspoon, worked on my cats!
You should never use human products on animals. They can get a bad reaction from it. Pet stores have products just for each animal to help keep them clean. Go to PetCo or PetSmart, or even maybe Wal-mart to get pet shampoo.
NOOOOO!!!! go to the doctor seriosuly if you do it it's sooo bad! trust me i have dog thats 15! still living! btw hes a dalmation lol sooo take good care of your cat!!! no matter what love him and take care of him with your life!
Dandruff shampoos contain zinc. Not all that great for humans, much less a cat. They make cat shampoo for dry skin. Try that and maybe take a look at her diet.
read the back of the bottle and see if it's okay for animals.

use only a little because some animals get itchy skin from human shampoo.

hope this helps

:)
NO. don't use human shampoo on animals. get the shampoo from your vet or the pet store. personally, i would choose what the vet recommends.
no way!!! you need to go to a vet for proper medicated shampoo or you will irritate the skin even more =)
