What exactly does anti-dandruff shampoo do to your hair?

Just curious about how it works (if it does at all?)What exactly does anti-dandruff shampoo do to your hair?
Not all dandruff shampoos dry out hair, although some do (especially Selsun Blue).

Dandruff shampoo works by slowing the growth of fungus in the scalp. Fungus is what causes dandruff.

Here is a link to a blog with tips on finding the right dandruff shampoo and how to use the shampoo. http://juliakazan.blogspot.com/2008/07/d鈥?/a>What exactly does anti-dandruff shampoo do to your hair?
See: http://www.livestrong.com/article/12444-鈥?/a>
